Transplant Games - San Diego 2022

Through the Gift of Hope Organization, we were able to travel all-expenses paid to San Diego, California to participate in the Transplant Games of America and meet other donor families and recipients from across the world. We formed friendships that would extend past the trip and were able to spread awareness to what an impact organ donation truly makes. Pictured here is the Gift of Hope Illinois Donor Team as we posed with our Gift of Hope flag as we walked through the streets of San Diego and were cheered on by locals standing on the sideline as well as given shouts of thanks and appreciation for the selflessness of our loved ones donations.We were comprised of family members whose loved ones had passed and donated their organs to those in need.That week we participated in a 5k walk/run, an emotional quilt pinning ceremony and a beautiful, heartfelt dedication to our loved ones whom we'd lost that turned into a wedding on the beach for one of our donor couples. This truly was a life changing experience that we were lucky enough to be selected to attend.
