Did you know that suicide is the 10th leading cause of death in the U.S.?

In order to promote Mental Health Awareness, the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention hosts a yearly walk known as the Out of the Darkness walk. The walk takes place in cities nationwide and is a great way to bring together those affected by suicide and their community to foster awareness and raise funds for suicide prevention.

The past couple of years instead of participating in the official walk, our family and loved ones have gathered at Lake Katherine in Palos Heights, IL. where we have a bench dedicated to Jaime. We wear our t-shirts and buttons with pictures of him and walk the length of the lake, enjoying the scenery and each others company. We end our walk at Jaime's bench and sit, looking out onto the beautiful water filled with fish, ducks and occasional goose as we recount stories of Jaime. The money we raise in Jaime's name, as Team Cisco Squad, goes to the AFSP.
